Over the span of our lifetimes, we do the best we can to cope and respond to the opportunities and challenges we come across. Sometimes we can feel like we are doing everything “right,” but still don’t feel the way we hoped we would. Through individual support, you can find the things you’ve really been looking for.
If you have tried regular “talk therapy,” and felt that it did not make the changes you were hoping for, it’s time to try mind-body approaches that get deeper than talk therapy can. Mind-body therapies get to the “felt sense” of experiences and allow healing on the deepest levels.
Individual Counseling
Sacred Integration
Sacred: entitled to veneration or respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy.
Integration: The act or process of making whole or entire.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly researched and highly effective form of therapy that can treat a wide range of issues. EMDR uses the brain’s natural ability to heal and adapt to reduce stuck points and puts the past in the past.
EMDR
Somatic comes from soma, which means “felt sense.” Somatic Therapy focuses on body awareness and movement to process emotions and experiences. Somatic Therapy accesses the parts of experiences that words just can’t get to.
Somatic Therapy
We all contain different parts of self. We can have parts of ourselves that we really like, and there are parts of ourselves that we can learn to fear or reject. Sometimes we can have behaviors or moods that are confusing, or that we don’t feel we have control over. We have a critical voice in our head, or a fear we just can’t seem to tame. Maybe we want to change, but a part of us just won’t let go. Working with a trained therapist can help those parts finally feel safe enough to move on.
